Our club, the Combined Probus Club of Kapiti Central, is a thriving social hub for active retirees who are no longer in full-time work. Established in 2003, we’ve spent nearly two decades fostering friendship and fun in a welcoming, inclusive environment. As a mixed club of men and women, we provide a unique opportunity for members to embark on a new lease of life through stimulating activities and meaningful connections. Our aim is to keep minds active, expand interests, and build lasting bonds through regular engagement. Operating as a non-political, non-sectarian, and non-profit organisation, we focus on delivering value with a modest annual subscription fee of just $40.

Meeting in the heart of Paraparaumu, Wellington, our club is perfectly positioned for locals seeking a vibrant community. Our monthly gatherings take place at 10 am on the 3rd Tuesday of every month, lasting two hours. These sessions include short items of interest, a refreshing morning tea, and a guest speaker who covers a wide range of fascinating topics. Whether you’re in Paraparaumu or nearby areas of the Wellington region, our location at 57 Hinemoa Street makes it easy to join us for an enriching experience. We’re proud to be a cornerstone of social connection in this beautiful part of New Zealand.

Our Activities and Interest Groups

Beyond our monthly meetings, the Combined Probus Club of Kapiti Central offers a diverse array of activities tailored to suit various interests, physical capabilities, and budgets. Our interest groups meet regularly and include options like the Arts and Crafts Group, Book Group, Bridge Group, and Card Group for those who enjoy creative or strategic pursuits. For social outings, members can join the Cinema Group, Coffee Group, or Dining Out Group. Food enthusiasts will love the occasional events hosted by the Foodies Group, which explores local places creating special food and drink experiences.

For those with a green thumb or a love for the outdoors, our Gardening Group and Walking Group are perfect choices. The Walking Group typically covers 5 to 6 km with a coffee break, ensuring a balance of exercise and relaxation. We also cater to intellectual and playful interests with the Mahjong Group and Writers Group, providing spaces to connect over shared passions. These activities are designed to stimulate thought and foster fellowship, ensuring there’s something for everyone in our Probus club community in Wellington.
