As Auckland's most active tramping club, we make it easy for newcomers to participate—you don’t have to be a member to come along on one of our walks or tramps. Simply choose a trip that sparks your interest and contact the leader to get started. Our experienced team ensures every outing is safe and enjoyable, whether it's a relaxed day walk or an immersive multi-day tramp.

We've been delivering superb adventures for a century, taking groups aboard Big Blue, our custom-built bus, to discover places you never knew existed right here in Auckland and throughout New Zealand. You'll find a supportive atmosphere where participants can socialise, share stories, and build connections over the shared love of hiking and tramping. Our trips are designed to suit various fitness levels, allowing you to get a true feel for the club and decide if it's the perfect match for your outdoor pursuits.

Complementing our field activities are our engaging club nights, held on the third Wednesday of every month from February through to November. All are welcome to attend these gatherings, which start at 7.30 pm after doors open at 7.00 pm. The evening typically begins with an update on club happenings, followed by a talk or presentation on topics relevant to tramping enthusiasts. There's ample time to chat with fellow members before and after, complete with tea and biscuits to keep the conversations flowing.

Finding Auckland Tramping Club

Based in the heart of Remuera, Auckland, the Auckland Tramping Club is deeply rooted in the region's thriving community of outdoor lovers. Nestled at 6 Market Road, Remuera, Auckland 1050, our location provides easy access to Auckland's diverse trails and natural wonders, making it an ideal hub for tramping activities that connect locals with New Zealand's breathtaking landscapes. This vibrant Auckland neighbourhood fosters a strong sense of community, where groups like ours bring people together to explore the environment and enjoy the outdoors.

Club nights take place at the Remuera Bowling Club, accessed via the driveway between 3 and 5A Dromorne Road (off Market Road), Remuera. The meeting room is conveniently on the ground floor, left side—enter directly from the driveway or through the glass doors from the rear carpark (push the green button if closed). Parking is straightforward: drive into the grounds via the same driveway and park along it, or continue around behind the building for additional spots.
